We were overall very thankful for the reviews that we found both benevolent and fruitful. Most of the points raised by the reviewers are due to ambiguity in our presentation. We would be happy to include the necessary clarifications in the manuscript and have a reviewer shepherd our paper to ensure we indeed address all the comments.

The only debatable comment was the technical concern of reviewer 2 about the implicit constraints in our optimization program. We agree that we should have made them explicit and explain that our theoretical results do not change by doing so. We will update our paper to ensure this is no longer a source of confusion.

We would also like to point out that our discrete time model relates to the continuous time model of Gomez-Rodriguez et al. (2011) in the following way: regularly discretizing the continuous process (as would happen in real-life observations) leads to a discrete-time process belonging to the class we study. We believe this is a strong motivation for our work.
